Question / Help Blackmagic audio across multiple scenes

I have a Blackmagic UltraStudio Express, which is capturing video from a camera, and also program audio from a mixing console. I want to keep this audio active in all my scenes, while I cut away to different video sources. I've tried adding the UltraStudio to all the scenes, but when I make it invisible, the audio drops out too. What's the best way to do this?

I came up with one solution. Use LineIn to route the Blackmagic input to Soundflower. Add Soundflower as an audio device in OBS Preferences. Use Soundflowerbed to monitor it with headphones. Mute the UltraStudio Express in OBS mixer when it appears in a scene. It works well, with super low latency, but it seems clunky. Has anyone thought of a better solution? Running three separate softwares makes it more likely to have a crash, and it would take more time to recover from a crash during a live stream.
