Question / Help BlackMagic and Avermedia aren't playing nice

Sup, first post.

I have a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle and an Intensity pro along with a Live Gamer Xtremem and a Live Gamer Portable. Avermedia when paired with avermedia is fine and the same for the BM devices.

However when I try to use these guys together I either flat out cant, or I get a blue screen soon thereafter IRQL_Not_LESS_OR_EQUAL_ I have already determined that there is no memory issue and that its driver issues between the two capture cards.

Bear in mind that I could run both types of cards together prior to obs 17 and prior to whatever xsplit has had out in the past couple of months.

specs

Windows 10
AMD FX 8350
Radeon XFX 6780
Nvidia Gt 710
8 GB corsair vengeance (Literally brand new)
ASUS ma99 FX pro 2.0

I need to use all four of these cards at the same time VERY soon so and I am stumped here. reinstall didn't work, I doubt rolling back any of the drivers to previous version would do anything because the only updates done when the problem occurred was to obs and xsplit.

(Also it doesn't work on windows 7 either, at the very least i get the blue screen)

USB Capture devices can very quickly overload your USB headers. Make sure they are spread out across multiple root hubs (if you have them). Alternately, you'll need to lower the resolution for all the cards until you're able to have all 4 added at once.

I will spread them out and see if they work better, although one of the capture cards in question is in internal and I did notice that works better with the LGX. Thanks.

Hey, I have a BlackMagic Ultrastudio Mini Recorder and am thinking about adding the Avermedia LGP Lite. The Ultrastudio is via Thunderbolt and I believe the Avermedia is USB 2.0. The reason I'm having to get two different external capture cards is cause OBS won't recognise two of the same input. ie, if I use two Ultrastudios via thunderbolt, OBS can't recognise the difference between them. And how could it I guess. But if I get the Avermedia, will it not pair well with the Ultrastudio? Will there be a latency discrepancy between them? I ask cause I think Mofat is trying to use loads of USB ins right? I'll only be using one.. Thx guys!!

If you want high resolution and switch multiple inputs you can also put a hardware device like BMD ATEM in front of it. This way the streaming PC only has to take care of one input. That is how I solved my problems and now I can stream 4K with OBS. My setup is 3 NX1 camera's => ATEM switcher => INOGENI USB 4k capture => OBS => Youtube. We have streamed multiple sports events using this setup and it is proven to be a stable setup. Now testing OBS 18 and first impressions are good - and I like the Audio monitoring very much, thank you :-) . If you can do it with camera's you can also do it with multi PC gaming. Happy streaming :-)

Yeah the ATEM is a little out of my price range though.. :(
