Question / Help Black/White Screen on Specific Game

Hi all,

I've been very happy with using OBS Studio to both stream and record Let's Play videos to YouTube. However, I began experiencing an issue yesterday or the day before which has me puzzled. I've been streaming/recording a game called Subnautica, and had done two episodes without issue through OBS. I began trying to do the third, only to find that it would just record a black (sometimes white) screen. Audio is fine. Occasionally, when I first start the program, you'll see the game for just a second before the screen goes black.

Again, I've successfully recorded long sessions of this game twice before, and I seem to be able to record other games/things on the PC, as well. I haven't tested that extensively, but it seems to be specifically taking issue with Subnautica.

Here's my log file link: https://obsproject.com/logs/U1zkRRyJt4yrTnRC

Here's what I've tried:

* I've tried the instructions in the post about laptops with black screen issues
* I've tried to set OBS up with its own profile under 3D Settings in NVIDIA, attempting both integrated and NVIDIA graphics
* I've started as administrator
* I've tried restarting the laptop
* I've tried both window capture (what I usually use) and game mode to record - same results
* Probably tried other stuff, but can't recall. I spent all day yesterday trying to get this working!
* I have NOT tried uninstalling and reinstalling OBS Studio. I know that was a bit challenging for me as a non-techie and have avoided a repeat.

Any ideas, guys? I promised an exciting new episode to my subscribers and I'm three days late due to this unexpected change! :) Thanks very much.

As an update, I gave in and uninstalled. The first uninstall kept my user settings and didn't fix the problem. The second uninstall, which did include removal of settings, *seems* to have fixed it. I'll let you know if not!

You added multiple captures to the same thing. They stomped on each other, so you got a black screen in the end. You fixed it not by reinstalling but by removal of the settings, which dumped the duplicates. Now, to keep it good, avoid adding multiple captures for the same sources. You don't need 4 captures for subnautica.exe, only 1.
