Black screen

Hello I downloaded OBS today and when messing arround with it a bit I got it to work.
Everything worked fine and the screen was getting captured and sent to twitch.
Yet when I closed it, tried to add a twitch chat box to the screen the app no longer was able to record.
The only thing I see is a black screen (+ some pictures I put on there)
I removed the twitch chat and still I get a black screen

I tried this: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/

Yet still, black screen.
Help me please =D.

Thanks in advance.

You forgot to post a logfile. Also monitor capture doesn't work with switchable graphics.
What do you mean by switchable graphics?
It worked before, but after closing it and opening it again it doesnt work anymore. Does this have a connection to "switchable graphics"?

with game capture, you need to set your video display in OBS to the nvidia card then follow the instructions on the link you put in the original post. have OBS multiplatform run in high performance mode in the nvidia control panel. not that monitor capture will not work with this setup.

I can't seem to find this option, is this within the game capture properties or within the settings of obs? And under what tab. Thank you so much for helping me, I know it must be frustating to help someone who is quite noob at this xD.

should be the video tab. I'm not as familiar with OBS MP but it should be there at the top of the video tab in settings.

You mean this? Cause both options still result in a black screen (Checked the Nvidia thing again, seems to still be in the right setting).

This?

(Also did not fix it yet)
right click on the OBS multiplatform shortcut on the desktop and you should see some options to set it on the high performance nvidia card. this is a temp fix. but right click on that same shortcut and click properties. where it says program location is where you want to add it in nvidia control panel.

Setting something to run as adminstrator in the shortcut properties tab seems to have fixed it for now.

Thank you sooo much for your help.
Seriously man, appreciate it!

That may be a windows 8.1 thing. you can permanently set this by right clicking and properties on the shortcut.
