Question / Help Black screen with no game capture

That guide applies to people trying display capture on laptops with more than one GPU. I can't tell if your laptop has more than one, and you've disabled the device driver for the integrated GPU or not.

The problem with game capture and ID/BG seems to be separate. I thought it was fixed years ago, but perhaps a recent update has resurfaced it?

In any case display capture might be a workaround.

There was a plugin that addressed the issue, and then that plugin was incorporated into OBS itself, but perhaps something new has broken it.

This has only been a problem wth IWD2. I ran the enhanced editions of BG/BG2/IWD1 without issue. Unfortunately there isn't an enhanced IWD2.

How can I check the number of GPUs and whether the device driver is enabled?

If you haven't explicitly disabled a device driver then ignore that. If your laptop doesn't contain two GPUs, the GPU selection guide you linked isn't relevant to you at all.

Your logfile only shows 1 GPU in your computer; unless you've explicitly gone into Device Manager and disabled one for some reason, which I assume you'd remember, then your computer only has one, so problems with capture are not related to GPU selection.

That you mention this is presumably an old DX8 game, rather than one of the remasters, indicates that itself might be the issue.

When game capture fails, the usual workaround is display capture. If your laptop really does have only one GPU in it, then using display capture should not be a problem.

can you post a window capture logfile?
the gamecapute is not work by the share memory issue
but for the window capture it is default no issue (Game in window mode?)
