Question / Help Black Screen **Windows 10 Games Only** Solved

Yes I have seen the Laptop? Black screen when capturing? thread

My problem is that I can get the Game Capture to work on Steam Games, but when I try it on Windows 10 Games from the Windows 10 Store all I get is a black screen when I use the exact same method.

Now when I use the exact same method for a steam game...

it displays properly...

How can i get it to work with Widnows 10 games... I have also tried Pinball FX 3 to test it on and that didnt work either which is another windows 10 game

Is OBS installed to the default location on your system?

No, i changed to D:\Program Files\obs-studio\
Because my C: in the laptop is only 100gb as my D: is 2TB

I have uninstalled and reinstalled using the default installation location, to see if that makes a difference... will report back soon

Thank you so much!! Would love to know why changing the install location gave me black screen on windows 10 games

Because non-default locations do not get the correct security properties applied.
