Question / Help Black screen when trying to view IP Camera

I am trying to access my IP nest box cam through its RTSP URL to allow me to stream it directly to my blog but I cannot get the OBS system to pick up the feed. I have tried both the internal IP (listed in the excerpt form the log file below) and the external IP address. I have opened the ports through the Router but still can't view anything. I can see the feed through the CMS5 interface. The camera is a Golbong IP birdbox cam. Hope someone can help

Have you tried using VLC source instead of media source?

VLC source requires VLC to be installed on your system, with the correct bitness. 32-bit VLC for 32-bit OBS, or 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. | Windows users: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html (32-Bit by default, 64-Bit can be downloaded by clicking the arrow next to the 'Download VLC' button) | Mac users: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

I don't have the option to open a VLC Source through OBS. Plus i can;t view the stream with VLC anyway, which suggests something isn't right with either the RTSP or some setting on the camera

My mistake - I had 32-VLC not 64-bit VLC installed - thank you for your understanding!! But as I said no VLC stream picked up from the pure IP address or rtsp

So like you said, the problem is likely with the camera.
