Question / Help Black Screen When Recording Browser, Need Help!

Trying to record a video from my browser for a presentation at school, when I record chrome im using window capture and when I record the video everything shows up correctly as I should see it in the preview but when I quit recording and go back to watch it as a saved mp4 file its just a black screen. I've now uninstalled and reinstalled and tried quite a few different things and I can't figure it out so would love some help
