Question / Help Black screen - Unable to stream to facebook.

Hi Guys,

I have searched for a fix for this quite extensively and I have tried all sorts of settings etc. I am hoping i can either get an answer to why it will not work or even better a fix.

Here goes.

I have a 2008 macbook pro , 2,8ghz, 4gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB, 256GB ssd, el capitan. it is pretty fast for an old work horse. Everything else I use it for is spot on.

What I am trying to achieve from OBS is a stereo, good quality live stream to facebook live. Streaming from my phone is great but I want it to be stereo and not mono. The stream is to present a live audio visual dj show from my awesome shed (The minuscule of sound).

I have followed the guides to the letter but when I go to preview the feed on facebook it is either a black screen or a random mess of a few colours. On facebook if I go live it says, when I look at my phone, 'was live' and is buffering. But when I check on another computer it says 'live' and is just a black screen. I do get audio though. Also the same applies when i do a monitor share.
I have tried everything on safari, firefox and chrome.

A couple of theories:

My computer is rubbish or too old
I'm missing some sort of driver
Facebook is blocking me.
I'm missing something simple (hopefully)
Some sort of security setting i need to change.

Please can someone help me??

Theory #1:Nope.My specs is lower than yours.
Macbook Air 2011 11-inch
1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000

Theory #2:Nope.Unless you forgot to update your Mac system(App Store update).

Theory #3:I don't stream on Facebook,so try checking.Just in case:)

Theory #4:Maybe.

Theory #5:Sometimes it might conflict with the stream. We'll not delve into that as the problem might be because of Theory #4.
