black screen PTZ camera not appearing in OBS studio

I have a 2011 Mac mini with Radeon video card. I installed a Thunderbolt to usb3 card on it. Then, a video capture card from HDMI to usb3. Then, hooked up my PTZ camera to the chain (HDMI port). According to OSX system report, the interfaces are connected okay. However, the camera is not showing in the preview or main window of OBS.
Video capture device shows up as a USB camera. I have tried putting in a thunderbolt 1 path...no go.
I set up the camera by using ethernet access to the camera menu. That works fine. I put a static IP address in that is recognized by the network.
Any suggestions would help. Please and thanks.
I should be seeing camera here, according to advice on internet. | maybe machine is too old? Or cannot get thru video capture card and usb3 to thunderbolt?

Update 1: couldn't get the Thunderbolt to usb3 adapter to work. gave up on it. So, I tried directly into usb on the Mac mini. Only usb2 speed, but, after a driver install, it works. NOTE: make sure you check for drivers for any adapters you wish to use. In my case, I had to find a legacy driver for OSX 1013.6...and it worked. Wish I could get the Thunderbolt to USB3 to work with it though, as now my bandwidth is limiting the camera resolution.

No, it's not. USB2 is plenty fast enough for one camera.
The log looks like your camera is putting out a frame rate that your capture dongle can't handle.
What kind of dongle is it? What kind of camera?

camera: PTZ hdmi/ethernet/sdi outputs, 20x zoom, set for 1920 x 1080 hi def @30 f/s
thunderbolt to usb3 adapter : StarTech (didn’t work anyway)

I'm not familiar with the QGeeM, but their website says you shouldn't need a driver. Does Quicktime Player see it? Open File|New Movie Recording. Hit the little down arrow next to the Record button to select the device, and then scroll down and select Quality Maximum.

If you don't see your QGeeM device on that list in Quicktime, your Mac doesn't see it, and the problem isn't OBS.
