Black screen on laptop

Hello everyone!

I hope someone can help me, my problem is the black screen problem on laptop.

My goal is to make display capture video’s, no streaming intended.

Computer: Single gpu “standard” laptop with Windows 10 version 22H2.

I’ve read the pinned message (from 2013?) and changed my GPU to power saving settings, redownloaded OBS and I ran the auto config wizzard and used the recomended settings. I run OBS as administrator.

Display Capture:

Using the option “automatic” or “Windows 10 (1903 and up)” I always get a black screen, sound is good tho.

Using the option “DXGI Desktop Duplication” gives sound and some sort of video, but it’s just a part of my screen and very choppy and laggy. The only thing running smoothly is my cursor…

I also never get a preview in the top part of OBS or showing any selected area or video. Also the “studio mode” option never shows anything on the right side of OBS.

Thanks in advance!

Try the advice in this topic
Look like you need to select Integrated Graphics for encoder to do Display Capture on a laptop

Thanks for your response,

Unfortunately I don't have an Nvidia laptop and Windows 10 doesn't have an encoder.
Any other advice ?
