I have read https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/ and https://obsproject.com/wiki/Laptop-Troubleshooting
Neither of those worked for me. But by going to Unit management I disabled the AMD card after which everything worked.

Maybe this solution could make it into the Wiki?
Also I would suggest that if OBS uses Screen as an input source and if this is 100% black, then you should get a pop-up telling you to read the Wiki.
As a new user I found it very frustrating that not even the simplest screen capture would work and that I would get no help from OBS, and I actually scrapped OBS a year ago for that very reason.
Looking at the log file OBS detects both cards (when both cards are enabled), but it thinks the displays are connected to the wrong card: https://obsproject.com/logs/9iumAb-LeCo3SDJd
OBS only detects one card, when the AMD card is disabled: https://obsproject.com/logs/mRRo1RrOtH7Nfyd-
So it ought to be fairly easy to detect the problem: If there are multiple cards and the screen is 100% black, then give a warning and some helpful information on what might be the issue - at the very least a link to the wiki page.
