My Hauppauge Live-2 works in the Hauppauge Capture program but gives me a black screen in OBS Studio.

Unfortunately Hauppage devices are well-known for being... frankly, terrible.
If you can, I'd recommend returning it while you can, and grabbing something from AverMedia or Elgato (a USB 3.0 device!).
Hauppage capture units regularly get put on deep discount for a reason, and it's very common for a new user to come here only to find out that they got what they paid for.

Did you see my previous post? You need to install the WinTV app, too, then it works in OBS.
