Question / Help Black Screen in gamecapture

So I've been trying to record some stuff, but when I try to record, all I get is a black screen. However, out of the game, any recording works as it should. And the weirdest thing about this, is that my mouse (I got mouse recording on) does appear, and it even changes like it should. Audio is totally fine too.

Edit: A bit of clarification, the mouse changing, I mean that if I hover over something or things like that, it changes on the black screen.

I'm having the exact same issues, recording the desktop works, sound also works, but gamecapture with a fullscreen game doesn't work.
Desktop capture will capture the mouse but not the game itself(fullscreen), when the game is put in windowed mode it will show the game in desktop capture, but this is a poor workaround solution.
When the game is running in fullscreen it wont be captured with gamecapture. (trying with crysis 3).

I've just tried OBS classic, started a game and tried to preview stream.
I got an error saying incompatible hook-modules detected, tells me to check ignore lists of programs like dxtory and fraps(which I have installed but not running).

Gonna uninstall fraps, see if that helps.
EDIT: Didn't help, just got rid of the error.

Some more information.

Added OBS studio to the windows defender exclusion list
Transform>Fit to Screen applied to gamecapture.

Games that do work in fullscreen with gamecapture: GTA5, CS:GO, Project CARS and Dirt3

More games will probably work but Crysis 3 will simply not work.

GRID seems to be strangely affected, the resolution is limited to 720p :S

I have the same problem with fullscreen games. I solved it by playing the games in a Fullscreen Windowed version and did a window capture. It solved the issue nicely. Not a complete solution, but it works for now.

Does that mean that you can still scroll your view by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen? Because that's really important for me.

Yeah. It's full screen windowed and your mouse won't leave your screen unless you Alt+Tab out of it. So you can unlock your screen and scroll by moving the mouse to the side of your screen. I use it for my League livestreams aswell.

if any games don't show up in game capture, try running OBS studio in administrator mode, i tryed crysis 3 tonite, without any problems.

I tried this before but it didn't work.
It does work now however with admin rights but it could also have been a reboot that fixed it.
(it works now)

sadly no definitive conclusion/fix.

To ppl who have the same problem and read this thread:
Before I replied to this thread I googled many possible fixes, try those and dont forget to reboot I guess :P

So I'm posting here again. For a while I've worked around the problem by playing borderless mode, however, when playing borderless, my frame rate is greatly reduced, and due to unknown causes it is sometimes so low that I can't actually properly focus in the game. Being able to record on full screen would solve this problem, so I'm hoping that, this time, someone passes by that knows a definitive fix.

(I tried running as admin by the way, but that didn't work either)

I also created a thread reporting similar problems. Seems to me that OBS at the moment is very unreliable as a software. The only thing that works consistently for me is Display Capture, which will always work. Game caputre, either as any fullscreen application or specific game window, is unstable and not reliable.
