Question / Help Black screen from IP camera - only on VLC

I have the current OBS Studio installed on two Windows 10 computers, a laptop and a desktop. Both exhibit exactly the same symptoms.

I understand program bitness. I have tested with both 32bit VLC / OBS and 64bit VLC / OBS, it makes no difference. I can select VLC Video Source in Add Source menu. I have tested with the current version of VLC and also v2.2.4 (because someone said that was the last version that worked with OBS).

I can always view my IP camera in VLC. When I launch OBS and add the VLC Video Source the screen is black, even though VLC shows my camera feed. If I open a Browser Source in OBS, that works as expected.

Removing the VLC Video Source and closing VLC, I add the IP camera via Media Source and the screen is black.

It is exactly the same on my laptop.

My laptop is HP and my desktop is Lenovo. The thing they have in common is Radeon graphics chips. I see many 'black screen fixes' relating to Radeon, but all describe something about Switching Graphics that is application-based. Neither of my computers have that option in Radeon > Settings > System or anywhere else. My Radeon drivers are up to date.

Here is the latest log readout, where I see a lot of errors:

More information. I am using reolink RLC-410 cameras.

Using Source > Window Capture and VLC does not work. I say 'does not work'... I can see the VLC menu bar and menu items, but the video feed is black.

Using Source > Window Capture and reolink-supplied viewer works just fine. It is a solution but is a ridiculous waste of processing power...

I had my first successful live feed to YouTube using the above method, watching my camera via the reolink viewer and then capturing that window. Crazy! Does no one have an idea what VLC comes through black?

SOLVED
The tutorial video I watched was completely wrong. It detailed these steps:
1. Open VLC.
2. Play your IP camera stream via URL.
3. Open OBS.
4. Add VLC Video Source.
5. You are done.

This was not correct. For those that are as completely new to this as I:
1. Open OBS.
2. Select VLC Video Source.
3. In the window, add a playlist, which is the IP camera URL.
4. You are done.

This is video only, I still don't get audio from my IP camera.

Just been through this with a cam broadcaster I help with. The following solution was the only one that worked!

Create a NEW user and password in the RLC-410 and then OBS could see it
