Question / Help Black screen for some apps, Nvidia fix didn't work

I'm getting the black screen, and it appears to be when I try to record a video playing in an Opera or Movies and TV window. I've tried window capture, monitor capture, game capture...same thing. A recorded video is capturing the sound, but no picture. When I capture another program, like Paint or Thunderbird or Firefox, I do get video. When I try to capture a still browser window (Chrome), browser window with video (Chrome), or Movies and TV, I don't get video.

I've Googled and tried several fixes. I tried the Nvidia fix in the sticky thread.
