Question / Help Black Screen for Minecraft Bedrock (I've tried every fix)

Hey guys,

I'm not sure what else to do at this point. I spent hours yesterday trying to resolve this issue and no dice.

I want to record Minecraft Bedrock gameplay to start making YouTube videos. When I go to set up the source I'm doing game capture and then selecting Minecraft. It shows the preview of the game fine when I select it in this window but when I'm done selecting the source and go to the main OBS screen it's just black.

Here are the fixes I've tried in accordance with all of my searching...

My os is Windows 10. My graphics card is a QuadroFX K4000

1. Set OBS to run as administrator
2. Tried running OBS in compatibility mode as Win 7, and then Win 8. Made no difference.
3. Went to Nvidia 3D settings or whatever and unlike a lot of people I only have one graphics card (no integrated graphics) so there isn't an option for me to select another option here.
4. Went to 'Graphics Options' on computer, added OBS and tried both Power Saving and High Performance. Neither did anything.
5. I also made sure that I have read and write access and full admin accross C drive.
6. I turned Windows 10 Game Mode off.
7. Checked to make sure I have the most updated driver for my graphics card (I do).
8. Restarted my computer multiple times.

I'm running out of fixes at this point. It's such a bummer. It's looking like a lost cause.

Any ideas?

Maybe that's related. But it doesn't work at all with Window capture either. It works with desktop capture but I really don't want to do that. It won't look good for my video.

i think you missunderstand
if the bedrock is the windows store version then its a UWP app and that only works with the second way record not the firstway (game capture)if i understand the UWP Topic
is it a store app or another idk what kind the software is alltime i google for it i read windows store so looks for me like the UWP problem

That might be the problem. It's the Bedrock Version of the game, not the Java that's all I know. Regardless it's not working for Game Capture or Window Capture though it does work with Desktop Capture.

Can a Dev weigh in and just confirm if this is the reason it's not working for Game Capture or Window Capture so I know not to try any other fixes?

I know this is an old thread, but I thought i'd post my solution here incase anyone else comes across this issue.

To get it to work I needed to set up a new game capture, then choose 'Capture foreground window with hotkey' from the dropdown menu. I then set a up hotkey for capturing the foreground (File > Settings > Hotkeys > Capture foreground window).
I then clicked onto my Minecraft game (fullscreen or windowed both work) then pressed my hotkey and it worked!

Hopefully this helps anyone else that comes across this issue.
