Question / Help Black screen fix for laptops does not work

tried to use the steps in your sticky that describes how to fix the black screen on laptops but it does not work for my laptop. I still get the black screen and only get a picture intermittently. The display source worked fine a few days ago and only recently has been giving me issues. You're trying to use a display capture source while OBS runs on the NVIDIA GPU. That won't work and is covered in the black screen/laptop post. I also have no idea how well it will work with Quadro hardware in general.

So even though it has been working for over a year, all the sudden it has a problem with NVIDIA? EDIT: And your post for the solution says to choose NVIDIA specifically so I don't understand how it doesn't work if your fix is to use NVIDIA

Nothing has changed. On a switchable graphics laptop, OBS has to run on the Intel GPU for display capture to work, and on the NVIDIA GPU for window/game capture to work. The only exception I can think of would be if you could disable the integrated GPU entirely in the BIOS and run everything on the NVIDIA.
