I want to capture video from a webpage in Chrome. If I enter dimensions of 1920 x 1080 in OBS > Settings > Video > Base (Canvas) Resolution, I get a video with black bars on all four sides.
Judging from a cropped screenshot, the desired portion of that webpage measures 1628 x 980. If I enter those dimensions in Base (Canvas) Resolution, the green cropping lines in OBS extend across diagonally shaded areas at the right and bottom of the OBS display, as shown here:
Apparently the diagonally shaded area indicates the dimensions of the original video -- in which (for example) one can see the full trunk of the big tree that is only slightly visible at the right of this image. I don't know why it declines to show that information here.
My question: how can I produce output with black bars on just two sides?
