Question / Help Bitrate not working unless it is.

I know, weird title. So I normally stream at 1080p with a bitrate of 3700 kb/s to twitch. I took a week break from streaming for the holidays and came back. I updated to OBS 17, and started streaming again. No go, dropping frames hard, only putting out 800-1700 kb/s. Not good. I changed it to 3500 because maybe the 3500 twitch limit was screwing with the stream. No go.

It's obviously a bandwidth problem, even the log shows that. Except my speedtest is fine, nothing's using bandwidth in the house, by all accounts it should be working. I play with the settings some more, nothing works. I restart the computer, and the router. I reinstall OBS 17. Nothing.

Then, I downscale the stream to 720p. Works fine. I bring it back up to 1080p. Works fine. I set the bitrate back to 3500. Works fine. ??????

I'm just changing random settings now and it seems to work most of the time, but not at all sometimes, regardless of settings. In one instance the log reported '3266150534' drawn frames despite streaming ~10 seconds. What the hell is going on?

Ok, maybe the twitch bandwidth test is more appropriate, my best server, which i always stream to, was getting above 8k kbps.

With what connection quality?

Also, do the test with a 64k tcp window size and 1 minute duration and post the screenshot of the results.

Los Angeles was the 8k one on default, short tests.,

Also, remember i've been streaming the same game on the same settings since the start of November, and today is when I start dropping frames.

None of those servers are usable for streaming.

Can you explain why? I thought 4500 is more than enough?

Bandwidth means nothing when the packet retransmission rate is high enough to render the connection useless.

Connection quality is the most important metric in the twitchtest result.
