Question / Help bicubic vs lanczos

I've been streaming great using the bicubic downscale filter along with my other settings, and I want to try the lanczos filter but I'm hearing that filter is bugged/broke in OBS and I was wondering if that's (still) true? In addition, since lanczos uses 32 samples compared to bicubic's 16 samples, does that use more CPU or GPU power?

Thank you for your response and the clarification. I'm running an i7 6700K w/ a GTX 1080 so it SHOULD handle that no problem.

just be careful if your game is downscaled on the scene.
if it has lots of details this may cause fps drops
