Better ability to select/customize audio sources (so i can fix my audio issue)

I remember that Classic has that function so I'm not sure why the current build doesn't. currently it streamed my desktop, but because i can't customize it like back then, it's not streaming any audio from my game

the function to add/remove audio sources? back then there's a BIG gear near the "Mixer" title that allows you to do that...which isn't in the current build i just installed? so right now it's just recording my desktop audio

doesn't help that whatever guide there is on the site was dated because the UI shown was completely different than what i'm having now

If you want to disable sources per-scene, you use the audio input and output sources in your scene instead of the global audio devices in settings - audio.

The advanced audio properties are available from the right-click menu in the mixer panel of the main window.

ookay so i already added a new audio output. now how to make it stream/record my GAME sound instead of my DESKTOP sound? i know it's still recording whatever music my browser's playing right now, and as much as i want to stream a super-extended version of Battle at Journey's End, i don't think i'm legally allowed to.

i'm trying to make it so that OBS only streams my game sound and now everything else like my browser, and the advanced settings don't help me with that

last time i used OBS was years ago (so basically Classic), so do tell me if i'm missing out some things that i should know because in Classic IIRC you can specifically just cut out your desktop/browser audio

OBS has never had the capability to split audio per-application (game vs browser), only per-device.

How to exclude audio sources for a stream or recording: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/8/
Voicemeeter Banana guide: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/397/

ok will try this out. and hope that this time it will record the game audio. which OBS somehow completely failed to do (checked my test stream. there was sweet silence...until i accidentally streamed Lethal League Blaze ost because i forgot to turn off the stream)

@WizardCM so uh....which voicemeeter should i get? there's like 3 versions (standard, banana, and potato), and the only noticeable diffrence between them is that they get increasingly...complicated? i got the standard version, but i'm still not sure how this will help me.

Goal: to stream game audio while having non-game (browser) music playing AND not being recorded. should be possible, right?
