Question / Help Best settings to record Don't Starve Together?

Hi, I'm looking to record good quality Don't Starve Together footage so I can edit it and upload it to YouTube later. I used to use Fraps, and with that the footage came out great, but it took up too much space on my external hard drive so I decided to switch to OBS. But I've been having trouble finding the OBS settings that will maximize quality without making the recording look like crap (low res or low framerate).

Here are my specs:


CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

RAM: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Video card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB FTW ACX 2.0 - GS Video Card

I'm playing the game on a 2560x1440 monitor.

How should I adjust the settings in OBS for optimal recording?

1. obs studio simple output mode - x264 low cpu option
2. QuickSync in your cpu - simple mode will be fine
3. shadowplay for your nvidia card will probably perform better than obs

dont forget to enable vsync in game. if you have 144hz monitor you may need "limit capture framerate" option in game capture source
