Question / Help Best settings to record Don't Starve Together?

Hi, I'm looking to record good quality Don't Starve Together footage so I can edit it and upload it to YouTube later. I used to use Fraps, and with that the footage came out great, but it took up too much space on my external hard drive so I decided to switch to OBS. But I've been having trouble finding the OBS settings that will maximize quality without making the recording look like crap (low res or low framerate).

Here are my specs:


CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

RAM: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Video card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB FTW ACX 2.0 - GS Video Card

I'm playing the game on a 2560x1440 monitor.

How should I adjust the settings in OBS for optimal recording?

Is that for OBS Studio or Regular OBS? I am actually using OBS Studio (posted this in the wrong place) and I don't see all those options in OBS Studio.

They're for OBS Classic because you asked in the OBS Classic support forum. In OBS Studio just use the recording quality presets under Settings > Output (simple mode).

If you get acceptable performance using "Software (x264)" then use that. If your CPU is struggling to keep up, use the "low CPU usage preset" instead, or one of the hardware encoders like NVENC or QSV.
