Best Settings for recording sketches & doodles with the lowest possible file size
I'm planning to record the process of multiple drawings and animations. I've recorded some up until now but I don't remember what settings I used and even then the results were not exactly right. For contest here are some examples of what I usually do:
Specs: i5 8400, gtx 1060 3GB, 16GB RAM, Windows 10
Most of my drawings are line art with no backgrounds so 60% of the screen is static I thought that because of this reason a variable quality option would be great. I may change between applications windows from time to time so I don't know if that may be a problem with a variable quality option.
What I want to achieve is the best quality with the lowest file size because my main constraint is my storage space.
The first think that I thought about was reducing the framerate I like the smoothness of 60 for my 60hz monitor while playing the recording at normal speed, but most of the times I'll speedup the recording and upload that so I don't know if the extra framerate benefits me there since the editing software will skip most of the frames somethings I speedup things up to 60 times If I'm wrong please let me know.
At the beginning of the first video the lines are so thin and soft that in the recording they seem to dissapear I definitely wasn't seeing that while drawing so I would like to fix it.
Lastly I saw that there's a new version of the encoder h.x265 but Its missing in my OBS. If this encoder is any better for my case I would also know how to use it.
I was thinking about using VBR, 30 FPS and set all the encoder options to max setting since drawing doesn't stress my PC that much.
