Question / Help Best Settings for OBS

Hello.

I plan to record some gameplay off of emulators with OBS. I've done a lot of trial and error when it comes to trying to find the best settings for recording gameplay off of emulators at high quality with this software for a long time, but I could really use some help. Could someone please tell me the best settings for recording gameplay off of emulators at high quality and smooth frame rate without and dropped frames or lag? Any help would be really appreciated.

P.S.: I'm using a mac to record with OBS. If you need me to be specific with its specs, please let me know and I will post it as soon as possible.

Thanks again!

@MultiGamemaster1 Hello!Yes,we need the specs so that we can fully analyse what's wrong with it.

Hello, sorry for the very late reply. I didn't receive a notification that you responded. I'll be checking back here daily from now on. Anyway, the specs for my mac are in the image provided. Please help as soon as you can.

@MultiGamemaster1 Oooh, almost same specs as me...Here's the settings I normally use:

A tip:If you're recording, disable preview by right-clicking the preview window and deselect Enable Preview.

Cool! You even showed me how you stream with OBS using a mac, which answered my other question. Thanks for that! I'll try these settings out and let you know if they work.

Looks like the recording settings you provided me work really well. I just wish that roms would run at 60 fps so that I could record in 60 fps. Still though, I think 30 is good enough for me. I will try out the streaming settings at some point over the weekend and let you know if they work out ok too. For now, thanks for your help.

So I tried the stream settings as well and the image turned out to be a little bit blurry, but it was good enough. I bet I can increase the FPS and bitrate a little bit more to get even more better quality. All in all, I am satisfied with the settings you provided me. Thank you so much for your help!

Sorry, but I'm not really an expert on that. However, I bet Amsyar might be able to help you. Ask him.

The best settings for OBS depends on not only your computer specs, it also depends on the site, and your internet speeds.
