Hello,

I have been fooling around with the NVENC settings and I can't find the best quality/performance settings for my system. Can someone tell me the best setting for my system and explain why. This is for local recording. My specs are:
i7-4790k @ 4.7 GHz
GTX 980 Ti
16GB RAM
2TB HDD dedicated for recording with write speed of 120 mb/s

Google, goooogle forever. I'm still googling for this. All I know is bitrates need to be around 20000 - 50000. One thing I haven't tried is recording a 1080 local vid in shadow play and then look at the vid details in vlc and it might point you in the right direction.

Oh yeah. Just read where the nvenc in studio version is sort of a generic temporary encoder while OBS studio is under development. If you use the old OBS you have multiple nvenc presets you can choose from. However, none will be good for streaming, except maybe at 360p/480p. With ur CPU ID use x264.

I wouldn't use NVENC unless your CPU can't handle the load (yours should be able to handle it no problem though). It looks like garbage at HD resolutions compared to x264.
