Hi folks,
I'm trying to figure out how to get as low latency stream as possible. I do video editing work and I may have to work from interstate for some time, so I'm trying to set up a process where my business partner and I can collaborate while he "looks over my shoulder". I've tried various desktop sharing apps, but the video quality is uniformly terrible. OBS lets me get a very nice looking desktop stream going, but I'm finding the latency hard to bring down,
I have two separate internet connections here, so I've been able to test the real world lag from sending to receiving, I tried a free onyxservers RTMP trial, and saw around 30 seconds delay. YouTube Live gets me about 12 seconds delay, which is way better, but still higher than I'd like.
Of course I realise that some overhead is inevitable and I'm not going to get instant transmission, but faster would be better. Is there a silver bullet?
BTW I'm on OSX, but I could reluctantly use a Windows or Linux version on a second machine if it's a platform specific issue.
