Question / Help Base resolution, 720p streaming

Hi there.

First off I want to say that I don't exactly have the most high end computer for streaming. My question is should I keep my base resolution at 1080p and downscale to 720p or should I set my base resolution at 720p and have no downscale?

Running base resolution of 1080p requires a lot more CPU and GPU power by the game and I figured setting at 720p and no downscale would alleviate some of that stress and give more room for the encoder to work.

Is this feasible or should I stick to native resolution?

The performance impact of using a 1080p base resolution is negligible compared to 720p. The real performance impact is based on whether/how much you downscale the output since that's what needs to be encoded. Generally we recommend setting the base resolution to match the resolution of the source content, then downscaling to an output resolution your system can handle.
