Banned on YouTube for a Test Broadcast

Hi

Just a warning for everyone - I have been banned for 90 Days on YouTube Following an OBS Test Stream on initial setup.

The ban is for a Community Strike and I cannot Live Stream now until end Jan 2018

A friend has also been banned for the same reason.

This is definitely not the first we've heard. Something or someone is flagging the static OBS uses to run the connection test erroneously.

As explained in the autoconfig, make sure the streams are set to private before running the connection test.

Thanks for the reply. Might need to make it a bit more obvious. Not everyone reads all the notes and I have never seen anything about making your YouTube channel temporarily private during this setup.

It's in there. Also if you had read the Youtube guidelines (which legally you stated you did when you streamed) they tell you that test streams should be on private.

That means you didn't read both OBS' explicit warning/directions and Youtube's... which explains why they aren't lifting the bans. You are actively breaking their rules/guidelines and the stated consequence is a strike, which they are enforcing.

Hi c3r1c3 - thanks for the clarification, I will spread the word and let my friend know.

I have checked and can't find this OBS' explicit warning/directions - maybe it's different on Linux.

Happens after you select your streaming place and add the key and hit "Next", the above pops up.

Now I do agree that because most people foolishly don't read without you throwing stuff in their face (like a pop-up box that won't let you stream until you say "ok" to it), we might be better putting this text in that box:

"WARNING: DON"T BE STUPID AND BREAK THE RULES OF WHERE EVER YOU"RE STREAMING TO!!!!!! HIDE OR SET YOUR STREAM TO PRIVATE YOU MORON! ALSO DON"T LET IT BE SAVED BECAUSE THE BOOGEYMAN IS GONNA GET YOU!!!!!!"

...Actually even that won't work. I've seen people ignore stuff like that as well, so it really is hopeless.
