Background removal or blur?

I was running a plugin to remove the background from my camera and act as a green screen without a green screen. The effect was perfect, but it throttled my frames to around 30 and it was really choppy. Removing the plugin and now OBS is streaming constant 1080p at 60fps. Is there another way to remove the background, or make the background blur out or something like that? I stream from my living room and my current setup makes the face cam look... messy and cluttered. I don't need it to be perfect or fancy, just something that will keep the background from being distracting. I also have a tv that would be in frame and I don't want to get hit with any copyright stuff if the tv is playing a movie for my kids.

Alternatives to green screen is thin layer of frosted glass film that you can roll out quickly behind you. Will look like you are in Umbrella laboratory...

Not gonna lie, I've thought about setting up a screen of some kind from the ceiling that rolls up when I'm not using it. Gotta convince my wife that it won't look terrible. I was hoping there would be a solution in OBS, but looks like unless I get another pc I might not be able to pull that off.

Consider buying a real green screen. They start at 11 Euro (altbeit without a stand) on Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/s?k=greenscreen

If you consider how much time you waste by trying to remove your background with technical tweaks without satisfying results and the price of a physical green screen, the physical screen seems very cheap.

Would probably also look extremely cool to your kids who probably want to explore the use of this new gadget.
