Background music Duplicating Issue

How can I set it up so that I can hear both the music and my game audio? While streaming, I can hear both the music and in-game audio completely fine, but when I view the stream, I can hear the background music twice. Currently, when I have my desktop audio on along with the music file playing, it's like playing the song over itself. In other words, you can hear it twice, which is confusing. I don't understand why my desktop audio is picking up the music when they're supposed to be completely separate audio sources. The only fix I've found is by switching the advanced audio properties of the music file from 'monitor and output' to 'monitor off,' but then I won't be able to hear the music, only the in-game audio. However, my stream can hear both the in-game audio and background music. It's just that I'm the one who can't listen to the background music, only the in-game audio.

Make sure you're not creating a feedback loop. For example, if you enable monitoring for some audio source in OBS, make sure the monitoring device isn't some device you're capturing with OBS. If you're monitoring desktop audio, you must not have desktop audio as monitoring device.

Check OBS Settings > Audio > Advanced > Monitoring Device. If this is set to "default" OBS will substitute the current default desktop audio source, which might be the device you're also capturing, which will create the loop.
Usually, one will either not capture desktop audio within OBS, so it can be used for monitoring, or you will set the monitoring device to some headset that is not captured by OBS.
