Question / Help Avermedia U3 vs Elgato HD60 S... which is less buggy?

So I have a choice of getting either at a discount.

I've read that the Elgato uses a newer chipset vs the less reliable/compatible one used in the Avermedia U3. But then this review is saying that the instant gameview is laggy, which scares me - that's the whole point of me getting either of these products.

I'm generally competent enough to solve encoding and s/w issues (been capturing since the 4:3 days), but I can't do anything if the hardware is bugged. So if the HD60 S is bad with OBS preview, then it's a no go for me. TIA.

Look here to compare instant game view, comparing HD60-s and HD60 Pro.

Avoid HD capture card that can only work on USB 2.0 speed, they use heavy compression to fit a slow USB 2.0, which may add more delay.

PCI-E can have slightly lower latency then USB 3.0, as PCI-E have direct access to memory.

OBS-Studio may add a little more latency for syncing up the frame rate to whatever is set in OBS-Studio output settings.
