Question / Help AverMedia Live Gamer HD 2 - No Audio

I recently got my AverMedia Live Gamer HD 2 to replace my AverMedia H727.

I plug the device in, install RECentral (and have OBS Studio installed as well) and there is no sound.

As the LGHD2 has a HDMI passthrough, when I switch over to my TV, the sound works fine. So there is an issue with the card and/or windows detecting sound.

Forgot to mention I was inputting my Xbox One

EDIT:

I had 'Colour Depth' set to '36 bits per pixel (12-bit)', changing it to '24 bits per pixel (8-bit)' meant the sound now comes through into the PC.

Weird... don't recall having it set to 36 bit color... but I WAS having problems capturing sound through the HDMI. Turned out it was because it went through my receiver, and my receiver had this thing where it would send sound through HDMI from source either to TV or retain it to send out to dolby surround. So having my receiver as my "splitter" and sending the video signal to the capture card AND the TV while playing in surround sound through the speakers meant no sound was going to the capture card. Had to get ANOTHER splitter and have the sources direct their signal there AND to the receiver... headache, but worth it ;)

Where is said "Colour Depth" located? I'm trying to figure this out but I cannot find this Colour Depth anywhere... Neither in RECentral 4 software, nor in OBS or windows?

Hey, I changed my setup and now I'm trying to force the LGHD2 to capture audio via the 3.5mm LINE IN, and it isn't working. What's this about colour depth? Where's that? In your monitor resolution? Or rec central? thanks for any help. this is so lame.

So I thought I would help here in case people look to this article in the future.

In Streamlabs OBS, it's not "simple" but it is doable.

Be sure to use the two options at the bottom. These are very important to get the sound playing when using a mobile device.
