Question / Help AverMedia live gamer hd 2 no audio

I wanted to post to help anyone who might have this issue like I did. None of the other posts on this issue fixed mine and I wanted to share the solution I needed.

In Windows Manage Sound Devices there are two instances of the avermedia card , Digital Audio Interface, and Line. I had to disable Line (that is the separate input on the card). After disabling that the sound came through and solved the problem but until then it was nothing but silence no matter what settings I tried through OBS.

The OBS settings were the default Capture Audio Only on the video capture device settings. Box unchecked. So no other capture input needed. A single instance of the video input for the card produced both video and audio with that windows setting changed.

Just made an account to say thank you. Been struggling with this issue the past day, couldn't find any relevant information in the AverMedia documentation or FAQs, or on the avermedia subreddit. But this solved the issue right away.. :)
