Question / Help AVerMedia Live Gamer Extreme no audio

Hi there. I'm sure that you have probably heard this all before, but i cannot get audio to play from my PS4 to OBS whilst using the AVerMedia Live Gamer Extreme. I am using Windows 8.1 and have tried pretty much everything from the tutorials on YouTube to actually plugging external audio equipment into my PC/PS4 but still having no luck

On the OBS mixer the capture card is showing a green audio bar (which i assumed audio was coming out from) but there is no sound being outputted. I have tried this with various of other audio equipment and the same problem still persists. I have set my sync offset to -600 and that didn't work. I have tried different audio output modes and customer audio devices but no luck there either

At this point in time I have no idea what is going on. My luck with capture cards never runs well and as a result I seemingly sold my previously Elgato because of the no audio issue. If anyone could help me then that would be most appreciated

This is normal. OBS does not output any audio by default to your PC, only to the stream/recording.

If you want to hear your capture card, turn on audio monitoring for it from the Edit -> Advanced Audio Properties menu in OBS.

EDIT: Just checked the screenshot, you're on a REALLY old version of OBS that doesn't have audio monitoring, so you'll need to update first.
 
The audio monitoring option isn't there. This is the screen I am seeing file:///C:/Users/Joseph/Pictures/sound.png

EDIT: Oh, right. Just read your EDIT and didn't realize that it would be under the new version, looks like i need to update then lol
