Writing this on my phone so sorry for any autocucumber.
I run an LGP Lite Portable (USB) and I've noticed that the stream engine requires quite a chunk of processing power and then OBS requires processing power to encode again. I always thought that capture cards required next to no extra CPU usage but it turns out that the best option is to use the stream engine.
I've tried using the avermedia capture option which significantly reduced the extra load from using the stream engine but it's very laggy and unbroadcastable meaning im forced into using the stream engine. Is there a fix for this as really I don't need the stream engine encoding anything or is this just the way this capture card works and I need to move on to something PCI?
Do all capture cards use some sort of additional encoding engine that puts additional load on the CPU or is it just this particular model as it's USB / Lite?
Running it on a 2600k streaming rig so it shouldn't be an issue but it takes up around 40% of the CPU for the stream engine which is resource I'd like to use changing my preset.
