I recently built a Ryzen 7 system strictly for encoding and streaming. However, in my testing, x264 encoding stutters more than NVENC for some reason. This is regardless of the settings being used. For testing, I defaulted the OBS settings and simply set the x264 preset to Faster at 900p 60 FPS. Below are the results.

Here is the log that was captured while recording the x264 video https://pastebin.com/d7EUQ3fR

For the sake of comparison, here's the exact same OBS settings using NVENC this time.

Also, here is the log for the NVENC encoded video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like it was a timing issue between the computer's hardware and the sync of NDI Source. Disabling Device Timestamps on the desktop audio and setting NDI to Network sync resolved the issue.

Thanks for letting us know.
Many people that start such threads and get their issue resolved, only reply with "nevermind, I found the problems and now it's running fine", so nobody else can benefit from the thread.
