Question / Help Audio Trouble with Laptop through Elgato but not my Xbox

So the basic situation is I've been using OBS studio for awhile with lots of success but I cant seem to find out the fix for this problem. My Elgato works fine (video and audio) into OBS from my Xbox One but when I switch my hdmi "in" to my Elgato to record Diablo from my PC in the same way I would record my Xbox, it captures the video fine and I can see the audio moving in the mixer for the "Elgato" source but when I stream or record none of the game audio is picked up. Only my mic (blue Yeti) is picked up in the recording.

I've checked so many settings on my laptop, my streaming pc, my elgato and my OBS program and I can't seem to find why just the laptop game audio is not being recorded when the mixer in OBS is showing audio playing.

Please help I'm out of ideas.

When I switch back to Xbox HDMI it works fine again!

Why are you using a capture card to capture the same computer you're streaming /recording from and playing on?

Sorry I should have been more clear, I have a more powerful tower PC that I stream and record from and I am playing the Diablo game on my laptop....I want to be able to just switch the HDMI input into my Elgato between my xbox and laptop runnning them into my streaming pc depending if im playing laptop games or xbox but when I switch the HDMI OBS picks up the laptop screen okay and seems to pick up the audio becuase the OBS mixer is showing a signal via the green bar moving but it doesnt stream or record the audio.
