Question / Help Audio Sync Struggles

So... quite new to one and trying to get a reliable decent quality love stream going.

Using ATEM mini
MacBook Pro 15 2015 with i7s intel graphics
Latest OS X
3 1080p cameras (canon m50, xa15 and Panasonic 4/3rds)
Audio coming in through the xa15 then atem

We’re trying to stream a church service with live music and talk etc.

I’ve had success at 2500kbps and 720p output but bumping to 1080p can lead to sync failing between the audio and video. Also at 720p the quality of the encoding is pretty disappointing and a bit like watching a cctv system rather than nice well lit room. CPU usage ranges from 15-30 depending on above settings.

I tried the same setup with a 2019 MacBook Pro 13 i5 with even more laggy results.

Any suggestions before bailing to get a crazy fast pc or similar?

thanks!!

Open OBS. Start an output session (streaming or recording). Observe your issue. Stop the output session. Upload the Current log without quitting OBS.

However all other things being equal, on that hardware if you get overload at 1080p the workaround would be likely to drop to 720. MacBooks are not suited to streaming, generally speaking. OBS performs better on the same hardware on Windows than in MacOS, and Mac laptops and desktops lack support for the most useful hardware that OBS can use (hardware encoders in consumer GPUs made by Nvidia).
