Audio sync issues

I record video and audio, but the audio doens't match the video. So I put it into final cut pro and I move the audio track around until it matches the video.
However once I do that. The audio still de-syncs later on down the line. I have to resync the audio with the video every 20 seconds or so. It never stays synced.
How is this possible? Is using a noise suppression filter doing something to the audio to make it variable delay?

What is your audio sampling rate?

For example, the audio that comes out of my DSLR is at 48khz, but the default setting from my audio recorder is 44.1khz.

Your audio may need to be resampled to match the rate of the video. Or the rate of your project in FCP.

48khz ... I realized the SSD I recently bought was faulty. I recommend anyone in the market for SSDs to stay away from "Fledging" there is a reason they are cheaper.
