Audio strange issue

Hi, I have a good audio interface that works perfectly with my DAW (Ableton), and a good mic.
The problem is that if I clap or I have both loud or very low noise, OBS does something like a crazy noise gate (or strong compressor) and doesn't receive the signal. If I talk instead it works flawlessly even if sometimes it goes crazy and the audio becomes unusable. It's not very funny when you are streaming, specially if you have a lot of people online...
I got another audio interface and the problem remains.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Can you post a recording of the problem? And screenshot your settings?

I'm wondering too, about a video of all the relevant meters, both in OBS and the DAW, while the soundtrack shows the problem. But I'm not entirely sure how useful that would actually be.

In the absence of that information, it sounds like the problem might be a noise suppressor. Those are designed for spoken voice only, and everything else is considered as noise to be removed. Lots of people have slapped them on without understanding that, and wondered what happened to their music or a repetitive sound effect.

As you have a DAW, from a Keep It Simple perspective, I'd start by looking at your OBS Studio log and making sure you have NO audio filters or effects taking place (you'll most likely have more robust, mature options in your DAW). If there are any audio filters/effects in place in OBS Studio, I'd make note and remove (not just turn off/disable) from Audio source
The point being to make sure there aren't redundant noise suppression/compression or other 'stepping on each others toes' type of effects happening.

As Aaron has posted previously, do your Audio work outside of OBS Studio, where practical. Then all OBS Studio is straight passing along the audio signal it receives... Then if you still have issues, time to look at Operating System and related

Are you streaming via OBS to another application? Would you kindly provide more details on this?
