Question / Help Audio sounds bad and not like original source

Im using OBS to record Ableton live which is music making software and the audio in my recorded video does not sound like the original audio. The bass is increased, the highs have artifacts and just generally sounds bad. Ive searched and read a lot on getting the best audio and have played around with the settings but cant get anything to work

Is it possible to get audio sounding exactly like the original source and if so how?

My settings are...

Video bitrate - 40000
Encoder - Hardware ( QSV )
Audio bitrate - 320
Rec quality - Indistinguishable
Rec format - MP4
Audio samplerate 44.1khz
FPS - 30

Ive been trying to record audio and video seperate and been getting great quality results but theres something going on with the sync.

Whenever the audio goes to silence for a few seconds it becomes out of sync with the video by a long way, but when the audio is playing at normal volume its perfectly in sync with the video. Anyone got a idea what would cause this?

Im using melda audio recorder, OBS screen recorder and Hitfilm video editor and cant work out which one is to blame
