Hello,
Lately I have been trying to digitize my old VHS tapes and family movies with OBS in such a way as to preserve how they would actually play on a VCR connected to a TV, and towards that end I obtained an I-O Data GV-USB2. It has been quite good video-wise (I am capturing at 720p), but I have had issues with the audio in the resulting files: every so often (give or take about 10 minutes), the audio will drop out for a few milliseconds and then start back up, as though it were trying to compensate for even the slightest amount of lag in the video. The drop-outs are just discernible enough to my ear that they bother me a lot - I have tried to troubleshoot the problem in various ways, but none of these have helped:
-At first, I thought it was because of Windows Update running in the background and taking up power in some of my first attempts at capturing with the GV-USB2, so I disabled it (and kept it disabled from this point on).
-In my previous attempts, I had the audio set to "Monitor and Output", so I could hear the VHS audio while it was recording. I thought that having the audio play like this might be taking up power and causing the lag, so I set it back to the standard "Monitor Off" option.
-Thirdly, I wondered if it was an issue with the port, so I tried plugging the GV-USB2 into the only other USB2 port on my computer.
-Fourthly, I thought that maybe the GV-USB2 was just having connection issues with the VCR (the VCR was located on the other side of my room and on a much lower level, and the wire was already getting stretched), so I placed the VCR much closer to my laptop to try easing the strain.
-Lastly, in addition to all the conditions above, I tried following the instructions at the top of this thread and setting OBS to run on "High Performance".
I have attached the logs from these five attempts. I should add that I am using an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg3xxx, that I am using the v1.11 driver for the GV-USB2, and that I had previously been using an ElGato Video Capture device - which was *much* worse in terms of video quality, to say the least, but wasn't quite as problematic audio-wise with OBS.
Any help is appreciated!
