Question / Help Audio setup : cannot stream input from external USB device

Hi all,

I'm trying to capture inputs from an external USB device (line6 POD UX2), but I failed to record inputs in OBS.

Although I select the UX device as default in the Mac OS audio settings and I'am able to record this in most audio software (Garage band, Dictaphone, Stage Ten, etc...), I failed to capture other input than the embeded mac book mic in OBS.
When I add audio input from sources menu, I can see Mic/Aux vumeter displaying signal, but vumeter of my device still off.

I'm using OBS 24.0.6, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4.

Does any one can help me to make my configuration working ?

Regards,

Yes I did.
But it doesn't work.
My USB device is a multi channel one.
As I said, I successfully record any input from any other software, by assign or not the device as default in the mac os settings.

I don't understand why I can't do it with OBS.

Thanks for your answer but I don't want to stream more than two channel or surround.

I just want to use one stereo input of my device.

It's look like it is a bug.

I have the same problem. OBS for Mac doesn't capture an analog stereo input from my USB audio interface (RME Babyface Pro FS). I expected that by selecting my audio interface in OBS as Mic/Aux Audio device, it would receive audio from channels 1/2. I had to install both Ladiocast and Blackhole, following this tutorial, in order to get audio from analog inputs into OBS. I've read that the Windows port doesn't additional software to solve this problem. Maybe someone will be generous enough to contribute a fix for the Mac port.

MacOS 10.15.4
RME Babyface Pro FS
RME TotalMix 1.65
OBS 25.0.8

It must be something specific to these USB devices. I have quite a few different USB audio devices (audio interfaces, mixer, mic and headset) that all work fine. None of these devices required drivers or special software to use them. Do you have to install any type of driver or run special software to get the Mac to see the USB device in SystemPreferences->Sound?
