Audio Recording problems from TV to MacBook Pro

I am trying to record some TV shows from my DVR (Xfinity) using an HDMI video capture device. I can get it to tape video, but the audio kicks out at about 30 minutes to just static. I have tried doing all the suggested advice - added VC-Cable, added filters like noise suppression, and a lot more. I even re-installed OBS. I just want this to work!!!! Is Xfinity messing with me?

Is Xfinity messing with me?

Possibly. The big names are sticklers for copyright, and there are several things built into the hardware standards just for them.
