Question / Help audio recording is bad from obs

hi everyone, i recently changed from windows 7 to windows 10, when i record any audio, it comes out gargled, cutting off, and not clear.
i did not have any issues with windows 7. i tried changing the settings in the audio recorder, no go.
the sound records as if its in a slow motion..very slow..and cutting off.
i tried exact settings as i previously had in win 7, issue remains.
trying to record just audio alone, issue remains
tried to record zoom meeting, issue remains
do i need any specific audio plugins for windows 10 to obs?
any help would be appreciated!

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...
