Question / Help Audio question

We have audio from our presonus studio live mixer running thru a fire wire to our mac and the audio sounds fine until our entire band comes in then it sounds muddy what do I need to do?

I have tried to use audio from the Presonus Studio live without success! What am I missing? Do I need to do any configuration.
