I've verified that OBS is able to hear my audio perfectly, both from desktop and microphone, and have tried every different bitrate and encoder available, but every video I record has no audio to it. It suddenly happened after updating one day. My roommate suspects gstreamer, but no updates are available for that. I've also tried purging OBS and reinstalling it, and that had no effect.
I also suspected that maybe it was just VLC to blame, so I imported my videos into Kdenlive to look at them, and there was indeed nothing in the audio track.
