Question / Help Audio monitoring not working

as title says i have tried setting audio sources to monitor as well as monitor and output but am not getting any audio. i have tried using different sources as well as different speakers with no success. it shows the audio levels on the mixer in obs but obs doesnt show any audio output on the windows mixer.

Having the same problem. Nine times out of ten when switching to a scene with audio monitoring enabled it's complete silence. The other times the sound either cuts out after a few seconds or OBS makes a weird "clapping" sound on scene switch and then nothing at all.
